I didn’t believe this car was real the first time I saw the picture, but it is and it’s scheduled to come out later this year. The Volkswagen XL1 (~$60,000) is supposed to get upwards of 260 mpg with a range of 680+ miles. But if you looking for top of the line performance to go with the great looks, look elsewhere. The XL1’s 47 hp diesel two-banger along with its 27 hp electric motor will get you to 60 in about 12.7 seconds and tops out at 100 mph. More details are expected March 5th at the Geneva car show.
