I just received the new American Trench Black Bomber ($295) that’s currently on sale for a limited time. The $295 price listed is 31% off its standard retail price of $449 so I just had to jump on it. It is definitely one of the best bombers for men I’ve had.
I ordered the medium and the cut and build are just perfect. High-quality materials throughout. The American Trench Bomber is a perfect minimalist interpretation of the standard MA-1 bomber.
I love the ventile shell which is much better for everyday wear over the standard shiny nylon material of normal bombers. The shell is completely water repellant which makes it a great spring or fall jacket when rain showers are prevalent.
Even though the bomber jacket is decades old it wears like a modern garment which you can pair with almost any in a minimalist wardrobe. This includes denim jeans, chinos, wool pants, oxford dress shirts, polos, v-neck sweaters and plain t-shirts. As far as shoes goe you can dress a bomber up or down with white sneakers, leather boots, oxfords, derbies or bluchers.
Below I’ve come up with ten of my favorite men’s bomber outfit ideas. I’ve tried to cover everything from casual to business casual to fully represent the versatility of this great jacket.
In my first outfit, I’ve lightened up the black American Trench Bomber with a white polo, a pair of chino shorts and white sneakers. I’ve also added my favorite cheapy shades to handle the late afternoon glare.

This is a perfect business casual work outfit for this coming fall. I took the black American Trench Bomber and dressed it up with a J. Crew denim shirt, a navy knit tie, Uniqlo navy flat-front chinos, and Alden X J. Crew brown wingtips.

I wanted to take a pair of Allen Edmonds Black Wingtips with broguing and dress them down a bit with some minimalistic pieces so they’d be the stand out in the outfit. I think they work great in this outfit match nicely with the black bomber, the flat front chinos from Uniqlo, and the black Asket T-Shirt.

I love this outfit. This is perfect for those cool nights any time of the year. Normally I don’t like shorts after 6 pm, but I think with the black bomber this outfit still works for that evening get together. It features an Alex Mill navy t-shirt, J. Crew navy chino shorts, and J. Crew navy canvas slip ons.
