The Blacklamp Carbon Watch by Schofield ($15,900) is a limited edition mechanical watch. For the case, Schofield uses a propriety material called Morta. Morta is hand-laid carbon fiber that’s formed into small billets. A single billet forms the Blacklamp watch case. Because of this process, every watch is unique. For illumination, the Blacklamp uses a Tritium gas light that emits a constant low-level glow which is invisible during the day and Moonglow, a GLTD material developed by NASA, sits around the rim of the dial. Only 101 of these watches will be made and they are expected to start shipping late December.
