If you haven’t seen what can be done shooting a first person action video, then you need to check out the Biting Elbows: Bad Motherfucker Music Video. Go ahead check out the video.
OK, Done? Good.
Now take that idea and turn it into a feature film and what you get is Hardcore ($TBA). A hyper-violet action flick that Crank with the raid.
The movie was created entirely from a first person perspective, produced by Timur Bekmembatov and writer/director Ilya Naishuller, and starring Sharlto Copley.
The plot goes a little something like this:
The main character is brought back to life by his wife (Haley Bennett). He finds out his name is Henry and along the way he also finds out he’s a cyborg. As soon as he figures everything out, his wife is kidnapped, and Henry is on the hunt.
Henry finds out the bad guy who has her is Akan (Danila Kozlovsky). He’s a psychotic with telekinetic powers and an enormous army of mercenaries. The bad news is he’s in Moscow, and it seems everyone wants him dead, except for a British chap named Jimmy (Copley).
Hardcore is making its screen debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. Here’s hoping it can live up to all the hype because the trailer is sick.
