Tired of beer, try making your own low-alcohol honey wine using Williams-Sonoma’s Mead Making Kit ($60). The kit includes everything you need to make five 1 gallon batches. Actually making the mead is super easy. Just steep 2 to 3 pounds of honey into 1 gallon of water that has been heated to 160 degrees. Pour it into the growler and add the yeast. In 4-6 weeks you’ll have a nice alcoholic beverage. The earlier you stop the fermentation the sweeter the mead. If you end up making some let us know what you think.
