If you didn’t already know, there are some beautiful homes on Long Island. One of them is the Sand Point House by Ole Sondrensen ($NFS). Ole Sondrensen Architects are a a mid-sized firm located in New York. The Principal, Sondresen, was raised in Norway where he learned his passion for carpentry and craftsmanship in his father’s woodworking shop. You can tell from his latest work that he is an expert in his craft. The Sand Point house is located near Long Island’s Gold Coast and is a renovation of a 19th century farmhouse. It features a cantilevered glass additional above an existing stone wall, a terraced garden, a great room with a custom concrete fireplace, Douglas Fir beams, and a screened-in porch. The integration of the new additional and the old farmhouse is flawless. You can check out other works by the firm on their website at the link below.
About Lee King
I live in a great city outside of Philadelphia and run Muted in my free time. Being close to a number of large metropolitan areas gives me a lot of inspiration for menswear and gear. Originally from Pittsburgh as well as a Suburban Detroit transplant I went to Michigan State University and spent most of my career managing global IT services for Pharmaceuticals. Besides mens clothing I enjoy, bonsai, my family, dogs and hanging by the pool.
