This classic Michael Cimino movie looks at war from a different angle; how people in a small industrial town are affected by what is going on thousands of miles away in Vietnam. The Deer Hunter ($13) stars Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken and John Cazale and is an outstanding portrayal of the horrors of war for those at home and for those who return home damaged and unable to cope their everyday lives. The younger generation for whom the Vietnam War is something they learn about in history should watch the deer hunter, and so should everyone else for that matter.
