Every so often a horror movie comes along that really sends shivers down the spine, and none did that better than The Shining ($5). Another movie based on a book by the master of horror Stephen King, The Shining was directed by Stanley Kubrick and stars Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duval and Danny Lloyd. A family heads off for a winter vacation in an isolated hotel where an evil presence is lurking that transforms the father into psycho. His son is affected in a different way as he starts seeing things from both the past and the future. A terrifying ride from start to finish, this movie is still scaring the pants off people today, over 30 years since its release.
