VIPP SHELTER

VIPP SHELTER

ARCHITECTURE, LIFESTYLE

If you want the best garbage can in the world for your home, the offerings from Vipp would definitely be on your short list. Now the Danish design company have taken their philosophy and applied it to their newly developed get away house, the Vipp Shelter ($580K).
The Vipp Shelter is a 600 square foot dwelling, made from stainless steel and glass, which has taken the best of mid century modern aesthetics and modernized them.
When you purchase the shelter, it will be delivered to your location in two containers and assembled on site. It comes fully furnished, includes lighting, a working kitchen, dishes and glassware, a sleep loft with a bed, outdoor shower and fireplace.
I absolutely love the idea of the Vipp Shelter but $1000 per square foot is a little steep. I’d love to see Ikea put their spin on this and come out with something comparable, but a lot more affordable.
