“Loving Vincent” ($TBA) is a biopic about Vincent Van Gogh’s life and his mysterious death. It is told entirely through the characters and landscapes that he brought to life in his paintings. The film is produced by Oscar-winning production company Breakthru Films and is the first of its kind. Every frame of this animated film is a single oil painting. Each one hand-painted by artists trained in Van Gogh’s style. At 12 paintings per second, that’s 720 paintings in just one minute. That’s a lot of paintings. It will feature 120 of Van Gogh’s famous works. The production is still recruiting painters to finish the film.
