Mad Men: The Illustrated World ($12), is an engaging book that celebrates the life and times of the mad men of advertising that existed on Madison Ave in the early 60’s. By turn, this book is kitsch, funny, wry and sophisticated. A full color volume that doubles as both a stand alone salute and a memento of a time when the golden age of advertising was ruled by slim suits, cocktails and prosperity. This is the only official Mad Men publication and is all about the time, not the TV show. A dream of a book that everyone will love.
